This Cookie Policy explains how Sena Technologies LLC (doing business as Coleous, “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://www.coleous.com (the “Services”). It describes what these technologies are, which ones we use and why, and the choices you have.

In short: we always use the cookies that are strictly necessary to sign you in, keep your account secure, and let guests use the app before they register. Our website analytics (Vercel) are cookieless. We also use advertising cookies to measure the performance of our ads — but only with your permission. In the EEA, the UK, and Switzerland, these load only after you accept them in our consent banner. Elsewhere (including the United States) they load by default, and you can turn them off at any time using the “Your Privacy Choices” link in our footer or by sending a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. We never use advertising cookies to change the content or answers you see in Coleous.

1. WHAT ARE COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They let a site remember your actions and preferences over time. “Similar technologies,” such as browser local storage, store data directly in your browser rather than in a cookie sent with every request, but serve a comparable purpose. In this policy, references to “cookies” include these similar technologies unless we say otherwise.

2. STRICTLY NECESSARY COOKIES

All of the cookies below are strictly necessary first-party cookies — the Services will not function correctly without them, so they are not subject to consent. Cookie names may carry a security prefix (for example __Secure-) when served over HTTPS in production. Advertising cookies are covered separately in Section 5.

3. SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES (LOCAL STORAGE)

We store a small amount of data in your browser’s local storage to make the app work smoothly. This data stays on your device and is not automatically sent to our servers with every request. It includes:
  • pipeline:device-id — a local fallback copy of your guest identity, used until it syncs with the server-issued pipeline_guest cookie.
  • pipeline: preference keys — remember interface and appearance settings, chat and build preferences, and cached usage information so the app behaves consistently between visits.
You can clear this data at any time through your browser’s “clear site data” controls; doing so may reset your preferences and guest history.

4. ANALYTICS

We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (such as page views and general trends). It is privacy-friendly and cookieless: it does not set cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not build an advertising profile of you. See Vercel’s Privacy Policy for details.

5. ADVERTISING & THIRD-PARTY COOKIES

We work with advertising partners to measure how our ads perform (for example, whether a visit from an ad led to a sign-up). When enabled, these partners set cookies on our site to attribute conversions. These are not strictly necessary cookies, so we only use them based on your choice, as described in Section 6. We do not use them to change the content or answers you see in Coleous.

Exact cookie names and lifetimes are set by each provider and may change. We only load a given provider’s cookies when we have an active advertising relationship with them; some may be blank until a campaign is running.

Separately, some third parties may set their own cookies only when you actively interact with their services, governed by that provider’s policies:
  • Stripe — when you start a checkout or open the billing portal, you are taken to Stripe’s hosted pages, where Stripe sets cookies for payment processing and fraud prevention. See Stripe’s Privacy Policy.
  • Google and GitHub — if you choose to sign in with Google or GitHub, those providers set cookies on their own domains to authenticate you. See the Google and GitHub privacy policies.

6. YOUR CHOICES AND HOW TO CONTROL COOKIES

Consent banner (EEA, UK, Switzerland). If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we show a consent banner on your first visit. Advertising cookies do not load until you select “Accept.” You can choose “Reject” to keep only strictly necessary cookies, or “Manage” to make a specific choice.
Opt-out (United States and other regions). Elsewhere, advertising cookies may load by default, and you can turn them off at any time by selecting “Your Privacy Choices” in our website footer. Your choice is remembered on your device.
Global Privacy Control (GPC). We honor the GPC browser signal. If your browser sends GPC, we treat it as an opt-out and do not load advertising cookies, and no additional action is required from you.
Browser controls. Most browsers also let you view, block, or delete cookies and clear local storage through their settings. Because our strictly necessary cookies are essential, blocking them will break core features — for example, you will not be able to stay signed in, and guest features may not work.

7. CHANGES TO THIS COOKIE POLICY

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the technologies we use or for legal or operational reasons. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
